Frequently Asked Questions

Can it darken stones/give them a wet appearance?

TaşStop dries transparent and will not add or change color to your stones. TaşStop will bring out the natural color of the stones, which is often interpreted as a color change. If you want to see how TaşStop will change color, you can pour water over your stones; the result will be similar. TaşStop Ultra SLV treatment gives the stones a shiny, wet appearance, and a thin layer of polish is applied.

Can stones applied with TaşStop support garden furniture?

No, any furniture with single-point loads cannot be used. A base should be used for single loads. These types of single loads may be suitable for carrying single loads, but a trial run is recommended before use.

Does TaşStop work on rubber mulch?

Yes, we have many customers who happily use the rubber mulch.

How long after application can it be exposed to rain?

The longer TaşStop is allowed to dry, the better. Ideally, TaşStop should be allowed to dry for 48 hours. This will give you the best results.

Is this product UV resistant?

Yes, TaşStop is completely UV resistant.

Does the product slip?

No, TaşStop is a water-based product and does not slip. TaşStop Ultra SLV may initially feel slippery when wet. It can be roughened with glass powder immediately after application.

What is the product storage life?

The unopened shelf life of TaşStop is 12 months. We recommend storing it in a cool, dry place after opening. The product should be protected from frost and direct sunlight during storage.

Is it effective if the stones are dirty or muddy?

This dirt will prevent a good bond between TaşStop and the stones. We recommend washing the stones first and allowing them to dry.

Can you use TaşStop on driveways?

You can't! TaşStop is not suitable for vehicle traffic. You should choose İsopave solutions for vehicle traffic.

Do you need a special spray gun for TaşStop?

No, TaşStop can be applied using a standard airless sprayer. However, for TaşStop Ultra SLV applications, the use of solvent-resistant pumps or airless machines is recommended.

Can you clean stones with pressure wash after applying TaşStop?

We don't recommend pressure washing; this puts too much pressure directly on the stones. However, you can clean them with warm water and a soft brush.

What size stone do you recommend for TaşStop?

We recommend a diameter between 4 mm and 10 mm for best adhesion. However, stones up to 15 mm can be used and achieve good results. It can even be applied to larger stones if they are clean and angular, but we don't recommend it for any pedestrian traffic.

Does TaşStop make the surface permeable?

TaşStop coats the stones with a thin film, allowing water to pass through normally.

At what depth does TaşStop work?

TaşStop is effective up to a maximum depth of 25 mm. A depth of 20 mm is generally the best depth for stones when treated with TaşStop.

How long should I wait after the first coat?

TaşStop air-dries, so it's important not to overfill the treated area with resin. Let the first coat dry for 24 hours or until completely dry before applying a second coat.

Does TaşStop work on slate?

TaşStop bonds slate gravel, but due to its size, it's only suitable for decorative purposes; walking on it is not recommended.

Will TaşStop be suitable for 20 mm aggregate?

TaşStop is perfect for stones with a diameter of 4 mm to 10 mm. Larger stones can also be successfully bonded, but the strength decreases with larger stones, making it not recommended for walking on. Mixing similar 4-10 mm stones into larger stones will increase the adhesion surface area.

Does TaşStop or TaşStop Ultra SLV provide a wet look?

Both products provide a protective sheen. TaşStop Ultra SLV provides a wet look, while standard TaşStop provides a more matte/silk sheen.

How much resin do I need for a 1 m² area?

A maximum of 1 liter per m² is recommended for pouring, and 1 liter per 2 m² for spraying. For a more durable finish, you can apply two coats by spraying (after the first coat has dried).
